Situated just off the A11, only an hour from North Essex & even closer to Norwich & Cambridge....this beast of a forest is an absolute must for any family visiting East Anglia. Go Ape, cycling trails, walking trails, BBQ area, cafe, Forest Segway, bike hire & archery are packed into this amazing wonderland that is THETFORD FOREST!

SKiN&BLiSS Campers took a trip there this weekend. Only an hour from Chelmsford & situated very close to the coastal towns of Southwold, Kings Lynn & Cromer...so loads of great campsites to choose from. The Forest has so many options so make sure you do a bit of research before your trip as you may want to pack a few bikes & take a advantage of the red, amber & green cycle trails. Theres also an excellent section on their website for activity & learning resources for the kids. Download tree spotter guides & wildlife spotter guides here.

But it's the sensory trail that caught our attention on our latest visit this weekend. Our eldest daughter is registered blind so trecking through forests can sometimes be hard work but the this sensory trail at Thetford Forest High Lodge was fantastic. The trail winds through the Forest and is packed with huge chimes, ropes connected to bells, whistles that the kids were jumping up & down on, stepping stones that sang and amazing swings that the kids were loving.
