Beadnell Bay Camping and Caravanning Club Site (accepts non-members)
Beadnell is a tiny fishing village and a gem amongst the many beautiful coastal spots of Northumbria. This small and simple campsite puts you right on the beach. There’s some great seafood and lovely little village pubs to explore all around this area, as well as several castles, Holy Island and the stunning Cheviot Hills.
This tiny harbour at Beadnell Bay is the only west facing harbour on the East Coast!
Wold Farm Campsite - East Yorkshire
For rugged and spectacular coastal walks, Flamborough is hard to beat. The steepling chalk cliffs are dotted with sheer sided coves lined with nesting sea birds. Access the clifftops on a private path from this no-frills site to witness the spectacle from above. Then take a boat tour from nearby Bridlington to get really close in to the birds. There is an RSPB reserve on Bempton Cliffs, a short walk to the north, and Flamborough village offers the usual pubs, shops and a fishmonger.
Aubern Farm Caravan Site - East Yorkshire
If quiet and peaceful with massive sea views is your thing, you’ll love Aubern Farm. Nothing fancy here, a serviced camping field next to the beach with a jaw dropping view of Flamborough Head. The site is dog friendly and the huge sandy beaches offer a bright and breezy thirty-minute walk to the hustle and bustle of Bridlington. Or relax and have a drink and a meal in the (quite fancy) bistro/cafe next door. My personal pick and just perfect.
Manor Farm - Norfolk
Nestled between the busier seaside towns of Cromer (famed for its crabs) and Sheringham, this family owned site on the outskirts of old fashioned East Runton village offers all possibilities. It’s a short walk through the village to the beach and the site’s slightly elevated position offers grand views out over the village to the sea. The site is tucked away up a farm track so it’s safe for kids to play and it’s still a working farm so calves and lambs will thrill the kids in the spring. Dog friendly.
Cliff House Holiday Park – Suffolk
Camp among the trees in this woodland site that also provides direct access to the pebble beach at Dunwich Heath. This is a larger site which also offers self-catered lodges and cabins. There is a playground for the kids, as well as a restaurant and bar to keep the adults happy. The Victorian seaside delights of Southwold are a short drive up the coast and to the south is the RSPB reserve at Minsmere.
